Swiss Chard

Chard does best in loose soil rich in organic matter and planted in full sun, although it will tolerate light shade. Water consistently and feed an organic fertilizer a couple of times in the summer for best production.

Harvest leaves individually rather than cutting the whole plant and this veggie should keep you in colourful greens for most of the season.

Chard grows best when planted beside beans, onions or broccoli/cauliflower.
