Mizuna & Mustard Greens
These plants enjoy cooler conditions so you can plant them out slightly early if you wish.
They grow best in full sun to part shade. Work some organic fertilizer into the soil before planting an keep the plants well watered. You can use the leaves at whatever stage of maturity you prefer and the younger leaves will be the most tender with the older ones taking on a slightly more bitter quality.
These plants will tend to bolt when the weather gets hot. We like the leaves best eaten fresh in salad mixes but they can also be cooked in your favourite dishes. Like Arugula these can be grown under light floating row covers if flea beetles are chewing holes in the leaves.
