Athena Hybrid Cantaloupe
This is a very popular fruit, about 5lbs in size, with a very sweet and juicy flavor that will definitely satisfy your taste buds! Athena Cantaloupe is disease resistant, which makes it easy to leave on the vine for an extended amount of time in order to maximize its sweetness. This melon is very firm, with medium sized netting along the skin. Each vine is approximately 2-3 feet high when staked up, and is high yielding.

Honey Bear Acorn
This is one of my all-time favourite squashes. It’s an AAS winner! (All America Selections) Honey Bear squash is about 1lb in size, with orange, sweet flesh. This is a winter squash full of fiber and vitamins B and C. Each plant is about 2-3 feet tall, and 4-5 feet wide, each yielding 3-5 squash with deep green and gold flesh. One of our favourite cozy winter recipes is to half or quarter the squash, scoop out the seeds, and add some nuts, raisins, brown sugar and bake it in the oven. You won’t be disappointed!

Vegetable Spaghetti
This is a cool squash! Once they reach maturity, they are about 5lbs, and around 12 inches long. Bake, boil or microwave them, cut them lengthwise, and scoop out the stringy insides to eat just like spaghetti! A truly satisfying way to still eat all of those pasta dishes you love even when you are cutting out carbs!! I also love chopping these into pieces and adding them to stews and soups to thicken them up and add substance and nurtrients. This creamy yellow squash does not store as well as other winter squashes so it is advised to use them within a short time after harvesting.

Waltham Butternut
Another AAS winner! (All America Selections). Resulting from years of fine selection by Waltham Mass. native, Bob Young, this is one of the finest butternut squashes you will find. Each one is approximately 12 inches in length and can weigh 3-6lbs on average. The tan skin covers a beautiful deep orange flesh that is creamy, rich, and nutty, making this the ideal variety for anything from soup, baking, mashing or barbequing on skewers. With their small seed cavity, they provide lots of meat per squash, and keep all winter long.
